Startups are back in season. Here’s how we’re going to cover them

There’s a bit of received wisdom that investors are all on the beach between mid-June and the start of September.

That’s not universally true. Many are still busy, and I’ve heard about founders successfully getting commitments for their open rounds over the summer this year.

But the realities of getting everyone involved aligned to wrap up a funding round means everything inevitably slows down when the days are long and warm.

But everything’s getting back up to speed, and so is PreSeed Now.

What we’ll be bringing you

  • Startup profiles: This has always been our bread and butter, and the core reason why many people subscribe: introducing you to brand new B2B and deep tech startups, and occasionally catching up with ones we’ve previously met. We’ll continue to do this, and we already have a bunch of great founding teams lined up (and we want more - details below!).

  • Investor interviews: These have proved popular with you. We’ll continue to talk to the people who deploy the money that keeps the early-stage startup world moving.

  • Features: More explorations of themes affecting the pre-seed landscape. Pieces like The startup wishlist: What do early-stage investors want founders to build? and We need to talk about America got lots of attention. Expect more of this kind of thing.

Our new micropitch

PreSeed Now started out simply focused on ‘A profile of a new B2B or deep tech startup every Tuesday and Thursday’.

That’s a nice, simple offering but we’ve clearly expanded beyond that over time. So now we’ll be using a new micropitch (AKA: a short, snappy description of what we do):

Making sense of the UK’s early-stage startup scene every Tuesday and Thursday, for investors, founders, and people who work with startups.

That doesn’t change what we do; it just better explains what we offer.
